Worldwide Brands and the Alternatives

Of all the wholesaler directories on the market, why is Worldwide Brands the most expensive – and do the alternatives offer as much value for less money?  There are, of course, many ways to find wholesalers and drop shippers online – with or without membership to a paid directory like Worldwide Brands.  However, while searching through Google or going to suppliers on AliExpress are both good (and free) methods of making contact with new suppliers, they come with their risks as well.  That's one of the reasons may people turn to paid directories – like Doba, Salehoo and WWB.

Worldwide Brands is the oldest and most expensive directory of suppliers.  It was founded in 1999 by Chris Malta, an established eBay power seller, and as of 2020, it has the largest directory of wholesalers, drop shippers and liquidators in the USA, as well as the largest selection of products.  Lifetime membership to Wowldwide Brands costs $299.

The top alternatives are Doba and Salehoo.  Both are initially cheaper, but have either montly or annual fees, which eventually add up to more than the one off cost of joining Worldwide Brands.  However, at $67 per year for Salehoo, this can take a long time to overtake WWB.  Moreover, both these directories are much smaller in terms of the number of suppliers and products listed, and in the case of Doba, only drop shippers are listed (no wholesalers).

Although Worldwide Brands is the most expensive, it is also the largest paid directory and even the cheaper alternatives can eventually add up to a higher cost if you remain a member for long enough.
